Choosing the build
Start from the budget
Folding cartons are the lowest unit cost, rigid boxes the highest. The difference is board and hand assembly, not print.
Consider the reveal
If the lid comes off in the customer's hand, a rigid or magnetic box carries more weight than a folding carton.
Plan the print
Inside print is what most gift boxes are remembered for, and it is a separate line on the quote.

- A separate printed piece, cut and packed with the box. Adds a quote line and a packing step.
- Ribbon / handle
- Accessories
- Ribbon, a bow, a handle or a belly band — each is fitted by hand and priced per piece.
- V-groove / half-cut
- Corner work
- A V-groove closes to a sharp 90-degree edge; a half-cut folds on a score. The V-groove is the larger labour cost.
